AgaugeFor & Another Race @ Club 77 Sydney. 9.2.02

Updated: May 15, 2018

Missed the first two bands on the bill (sorry Three Second Memory & Notion), and arrived as Melbourne’s Another Race were crankin’ to the nth degree.

Stark, sweaty, scorched, in your face jump-rock with a kickarse kool. Fuck, so much power. So much energy. Two minutes in and I'm already blown away.

A brutally brazen assault that rolls over you like a friggin’ tidal wavethat knows no mercy. This is my first encounter, and it’s a total mind-fuck on all fronts.

Menacing. Mighty. Mammoth! Awesome shit indeed, and one very powerful entity. If you’ve never seen these guys live, then get out and do so. They’ll be back in Sydney Feb 22 @ The Metro supporting P.O.D. We’ll be there for sure.

Launching their kicker new EP, AgaugeFor kick off all dark and sultry like. Sharp as shite…brooding…building…then exploding into a mass of electric fusion that jolts your very soul. Plea Bargain’s snappy thrash.

The killer drawl of old fave Trawl It. And when it all warms up, it’s like a riveted mass of molten steel that unleashes its red hot fury. A sheer powerhouse of sound!

Yearning vocals, drilling beats, head-numbing waves of energy that belt you till ya bleed. Way kool, and so easy to get hooked on. Zenith turns on the jackhammer backbeat, as it sweeps with its bleeding vocal wash and pummels through the shore break, burning down the entire fucking house.

Manton keeps those killer incisive beats pumping out, as the primal rumble marries the roll and the boys up front sans shirts go totally nuts. We cop a fair slab off both EPs, finishing up with Lie Forensic thrown into the squelched mix, leaving one and all suitably bedraggled and well and truly impressed.

Good shit indeed. Mark Fraser- redbackrock.com
